In this passage we learn about the disciple who has come to be known as "Doubting Thomas." However, after looking at the text, it is clear that Thomas didn't doubt, he said that he did not believe. Doubt is not the opposite of faith, unbelief is the opposite of faith. Instead of steering clear of doubt, as Christians we should embrace it as an opportunity to mature in our faith. Unresolved doubt can leave a person frustrated, but resolved doubt can be an incredible catalyst for growing in faith and maturity. Embrace doubt as normal and seek to understand what God would have you learn from it. When Thomas had his question answered, it led him to profess Jesus as "My Lord and my God."
