This week Pastor Josh continues our look at the book of James as we study James 1:12-18 and the four "D's" of temptation and sin (Desire, Deception, Disobedience, and Death).
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James 1:12-18
This week Pastor Josh continues his series on the book of James. We take a look at what it means to grow in maturity of our faith, seeking wisdom.
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
This week Pastor Josh begins a new series, Some Assembly Required- “Building a Mature Life from the Book of James." We will be taking time to look deeper into the book of James and learn how to grow spiritually.
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2a
Mind Renewing Questions:
…you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2b
This week Pastor Josh teaches on what it means to be rooted in prayer. Prayer is personal communication with God. Through prayer we express our trust in God.
