This week Pastor Josh teaches what it means to be born again. Being born again is a kind of spiritual reset button for our lives.
"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!"
-1 John 3:1
We continue our Advent series with a teaching from Romans 16.
25 Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, 26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith— 27 to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen. Romans 16:25-27
This week we continue our Advent series. Pastor Josh teaches from 1 Thessalonians.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22
This week we continue our Advent series. Pastor Josh teaches from 2 Peter:
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. 14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, 2 Peter 3:8-15a
This week Pastor Josh begins our series on Advent. We learn what it means to follow Jesus, and become natural givers. Jesus came to earth to teach us that loving God has more to do with who we are than what we do or don’t do. Through Jesus Christ by the power of His Holy Spirit, our default mode must be transformed from natural receivers to natural givers.
If you miss a Sunday or want to hear one of the sermons again, this is the place for you!
