As we have been studying Identity, Community, and Purpose for the last several weeks we hope that it has been impossible to miss the point that JESUS MUST be the driving factor in each of these areas for Him to make a difference in us and in our world.
We continue our study on identity, community, purpose. This week we focus on PURPOSE.
When it comes to topics like purpose, instead of approaching it as something that we do it is better thought of in terms of who we become.
What is it that we truly want people to know about us? The thing that you are most insecure about is the identity that you are trying to sell the world. As followers of Jesus, we need to ask ourselves: Why. isn't. my. identity. Jesus.?
There must always be a "lived out" reality to our faith in Jesus.
The Simple Life of the Discipleship Process
1. Confess your sin to Jesus and be forgiven.
2. Learn His way to live.
3. Actually live like He says to live.
When we all start using our time, talents and treasures in conjunction with our heads, hearts and hands amazing things will happen in and around us.
- Pastor Josh Kesler
Pastor Mike Dittman, Director of National Ministries for the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, shares with us about walking as Jesus walked.
Pastor Mike sheds light on the Lord's Prayer in a new and relatable way.
It's a new year, and let's set the prayer "reset button".
Prayer is not something that we do, it is who we are.
Prayer isn't just about words, it's about connection.
When we see prayer as character development instead of problem solving it will revolutionize how we pray and relate to God.
A lack of prayer in our life is not a scheduling problem, its a priority problem.
Pastor Josh deconstructs the famous and timely hymn, O Holy Night.
O holy night the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth
When we are confronted with the reality of Jesus and we confess our “soul thirst” and look to Him,
he reaches down from heaven and heals our soul and reminds us that we we matter.
What does your life tell people about Jesus?
Jesus offers terms of Peace, not terms of War. The humble King came into the world as a baby in a manger.
When you go to battle this week, go with nothing more than the weapons of peace, justice, mercy, hope, faith.
